|I love this time of year. The other morning I
got up early and sat on my deck to drink my morning coffee. Looking out
over our field at the back of the house just beyond the apple trees I saw
two wild turkeys much like the ones in the picture to the right.
I sat and watched them for a long while as they cautiously made their way
through our garden looking for an ear of corn that might have slipped by
our notice from the summer harvest, or maybe some black eyed peas. It was
a simple pleasure but one I enjoyed immensely. You see it's easy to get
caught up in the daily rat race and to lose sight of what's important. Both
Jilda's mother and mine have had a difficult year but both are alive with
us on this Thanksgiving Day. I have my job and Jilda is enjoying success
with her Folk Art business and when all is said and done, we have so much
for which to be thankful.
I'm also thankful for all my friends. both new and old that resulted
|directly for the creation of this website. Hardly a day goes by that someone
doesn't stop me in the store or send me an email to say how much they appreciate
the site. All I can say is that it has been a blessing to me as well.
So before I start getting mushy, I'll close by saying: keep our troops in
your thoughts and prayers and have a safe and happy Thanksgiving.
