Dawgs Clinch State Playoff Slot

Dora stepped out of region today and played Walker County foe, Parrish. The Tornadoes played well in the 1st two innings, but Dora held them and went on a hitting rampage. The Bulldogs defeated the Parrish Tornadoes 11-2. The B-team also played Parrish and defeated them 10-0 in 5 innings. The varsity has a record of 18-6 and the B-team has a record of 4-2. Next games for both varsity and B-Team are Monday at home against Hanceville, Tuesday at Hanceville, and Thursday at Cordova. SPECIAL NOTE: Dora has already clinched a state playoff berth. Come support the Bulldogs and their quest for a state baseball title.

Bulldog Beauties From the Past

I've said it for years, but here's the proof: some of the most beautiful girls inthe world come from this side of Walker County. Patti Wilson sent me Bulldog Beauty pictures from the years 1948 through 1953 and I have posed the photographs. You can find the photos by following the "Photos" link on the left hand side of this page.
I plan to do some research to determin how these girls were selected and do a story on some of the past Bulldog beauties. If anyone knows how to reach any of these ladies, please drop me a note and I will follow up.
If you have photos from the past, or ideas for stories on teachers, students, events, or most anything related to Dora High School, please let me know. I would also welcome stories written by our readers.

Note From Bobbye Wade, President of Dora High School Alumni Association
Hi Fellow Alums,

Would you do something for me? How about getting in touch via Email or whatever and invite your friends and classmates to the Dora High School Alumni Reunion 2003.
The date is Saturday, April 26, 2003, at Dora High School. Registration begins at 4:00 p.m. Some of the MEN felt they did not have enough time to talk if we meet at 6:00. Can you believe that? They say women gossip but they talk.
We had 125 attendees last year, and I'm shooting for 200 or more this year. I need to get a head count of sorts to know how much food to prepare. I have reservations for some of you so ignore that part of the Email, but send nominations.
Please send me your nominations for officers of the DHS Alumni Association for the 2004-2005 period:
President,
Vice President,
Secretary,
Hopefully Nelson Robinson will stay on as Treasurer
Looking forward to hearing from you with reservations and nominations.

Bobbye Wilson Wade,
President,
Dora High School Alumni Association 2002-2003

NOTE: Email addresses for the following people seem to have changed. When I send out an email, they are returned. If you change your email address, please send me a note and I'll correct it on the website. Thanks.
