Peggy Jo (Reed) Short Passes Away 12/21/05
Peggy Jo Reed who was a member of the Dora High School Class of 69 passed away on Wednesday December 21st at a local hospital. She died from complications after heart surgery.Visitation will be Monday 12/26/05 from 12:00 - 2:00 at New Horizon Service at 2:00 in their Chapel.

Peggy Jo was a friend of mine. She grew up in the house behind ours in West Pratt. She was there during all those lean and crazy years. She was an accomplice in many of the pranks we pulled and never once ratted us out when we got caught...even if it meant getting a whippin'. She was quick with a laugh and slow to judge. She worked hard and raised her kids on the same land on which she grew up.
I had not seen Peggy Jo in a few years and I was sadden to learn of her passing. One of Peggy Jo's classmates tells me that the family did not have insurance and they are asking that donations be made (in lieu of flowers) to help pay for the funeral.
Donations can be sent to New Horizon Memorial Funeral Home, 5203
